Biography:

I was born in Central Nebraska, the daughter of one of Nebraska's first flying ranchers. Often outdoors playing, the Sandhills were stright out my back door, with the front door leading to the Platte River, a love of mine. School was in the small town of Brady, sitting between North Platte and Gothenburg. Given  a 50's childhood and small town environment, I was the kid that went all over town getting to know people. A tomboy,I eventually changed. I was editor for the school paper, active in drama, and revamped the school year book, iiving up to my expectations that  one day I'd write. Singing was  another favorite.  I was an All-State soloist.

Having attended the U. of Nebraska for two years, I was a Gamma Phi before working as a stewardess for United. Later after marrying, I graduated from Concordia, attaining  my master's from Kearney State in counseling psychology. I was the primary child therapist and opened a private practice. A few years later, I was diagnosed with MS. My writing career evolved at that time. While I was busy with  stories, my husband taught school.

We have one son, Matt,  the head football coach at Doane college.. He  married Lacey Beemer who teaches  music  in Friend, Ne. They have two little girls.

In my quiet moments I  blog  http://gabbi innerjoy.blogspot.com/ , am active on Linkedin and also Facebook.

My husband and I live in  Crete, Ne from March until November.  We have a cabin on The Little Blue.
