I have been a member of the Nebraska Writers Guild for four years. I have attended several conferences and the speakers have been inspiring. The greatest advantage the NWG offers me is the opportunity to network with other writers, editors, etc.
I am a pharmacist by profession, and most of my writing consisted of one liners on the label of a medication bottle. I sold my community and long-term care pharmacies a few years back, but still do part time consulting for long term care facilities.
My wife of 50 years is an RN, and we have three children and 9 grandchildren. We visit as often as we can, which if you are a grandparent, isn't often enough.
I have always been an avid reader, and possessed a desire to write my own book. The Nebrasks Writers Guild provided the inspiration plus the resources to publish my first novel, The Black Angel, in 2014. A sequel, Follow The Blood Trail, is releasing in October, 2016.
From here I'm going to segue way into a different direction, ( you real writers call it genre) and my next book will be a humorous collection of hunting and fishing tales. (Unless my readers demand another sequel to the Sam Washington series.)
