The Nebraska Writers Guild holds an annual conference in Omaha, Nebraska. The conference is a great place to network with other authors, attend classes, and attend a boot camp critique group that will give you specific feedback on your own work. The NWG also has monthly Zoom classes on many different topics. Once you become a member you have access to all of the past classes. Members are also able to network with each other at the conference, other events, and through the Groups.io message board.
The NWG conference is a great place to learn about how to get published. You can sign up to pitch your work to a literary agent through Zoom. You can take classes on how to pitch, how to publish, and how to improve your craft so agents will want your book.
When you donate, we use the funds in a variety of ways. Some of our money goes to conference expenses. Some of our money goes to monthly expenses the guild has like website upkeep and programs that help us run like QuickBooks. We do have a scholarship program and if you donate specifically there, that money goes to help members who cannot afford to pay dues, or conference fees. We have a responsibility to our community and our donors and work hard to ensure long-term sustainability of the organization. We make our IRS Form 990 available for review, as required by law. Visit our Financials page to learn more.
Our organization takes our privacy policy seriously and takes steps to protect and ensure the safety of our supporters. We do not sell or otherwise disclose information about our volunteers or supporters outside of our immediate organization. This policy has no exceptions. We do not sell or exchange your information with any other organizations, public, private or nonprofit. For more detailed information visit our Privacy Policy page.
The NWG has several levels of membership. Members reside in many states around the USA, and even a few members in other countries. You do not have to be living in Nebraska or be a published author to become a member. We invite you to learn more about our different membership levels and the dues associated with each on our Become A Member page.
