Annual Events of the Nebraska Writers Guild
-
The NWG Annual Conference is held in Omaha. It has grown into a three-day event with a writers retreat and breakout classes. We bring in experts from the industry to teach and give their insights into the business and craft of writing. We anticipate many years of showing off Nebraska to speakers from the east and west coast who will learn that our members have a lot to offer the publishing and film industries.

This is a mini-conference set in western Nebraska each year. It's a one-day event where speakers will talk about writing, publishing, and marketing.

"Write Across Nebraska" Mid-Summer Event
Write Across Nebraska - WAN - is a statewide event that happens each July. The purpose of WAN is to encourage all writers (not just members of the guild) to write. After WAN is over, we turn in our word counts and tally them up. Our goal is to beat our word count from the previous year.

NWG at the NE State Fair
Members are encouraged to contact the State Fair Coordinator to sign up for "hosting" the booth for whatever time is possible during the run of the Fair. Over 300,000 people walk by that booth. We hand out fliers, talk about our organization and member/hosts can sell books. You can obtain a discounted pass to the fair by volunteering.
