The Nebraska Writers Guild is now accepting workshop and class proposals for our 2027 Annual Conference.

Each year, the NWG Conference brings together writers from across the Midwest—aspiring, emerging, and professional—for three days of learning, networking, and inspiration. We’re looking for engaging, practical, and encouraging sessions that equip writers at every stage of their journey.
What We’re Seeking
- 50-minute sessions and a limited number of 2-hour intensive workshops
- Topics in craft, publishing, business of writing, poetry, nonfiction, marketing, and inspiration
- Classes that are interactive, motivating, and tailored to the needs of writers
- Presenters who are passionate about sharing their expertise and connecting with our community
What We Offer:
- Promotion in our digital and print programs, website, and social media
- A platform to build credibility, connect with new readers, and contribute to the thriving Midwest writing community
- Free conference entry and a small financial honorarium post-conference
What You Need to Provide:
To save you time, here’s what the form will ask you to provide:
Presenter Information
- Full name
- Email address and phone number
- A short professional bio (100 words or less)
- Website and/or social media links
Workshop/Class Proposal
- Session title
- Session description (150 words, will be used in the program if selected)
- Session type (50-minute class, 2-hour workshop)
- Primary topic area (craft, business, publishing, nonfiction/memoir, poetry, etc.)
- Intended audience level (aspiring, emerging, experienced, or all levels)
- Technology requests (projector, speakers, whiteboard, etc.)
Uploads & Agreements
Attach PDF handouts (if applicable—NWG will not print copies; PDFs will be emailed to attendees)
Important Notes for Proposals:
- We encourage the submission of more than one proposal.
- If you wish to co-teach a class, the NWG will not offer two honorariums or two admissions. Fill out the form as one teacher, then list both instructors in the class description.
- Please complete the form by Oct. 11, 2026. Selected speakers will be notified by Dec. 31, 2026.
- If you have taught at our conference in the last two years, please DO NOT submit the same class proposal. We are looking for fresh content.
